Dyscover was invited to present at this session hosted by UCL for Masters Speech and Language Therapy Students. The aim of the session is for the students to directly meet people who are experiencing communication impairment as a result of different neurological conditions. It provides them with a practical, tangible experience which links well with their theoretical learning.

Caroline and Julie took 3 ambassadors; Julian, Barry and Deena, along with our volunteer, Charlotte. The ambassadors gave superb presentations of around 5-10 minutes each, detailing their interests, the impact of aphasia and how Dyscover supports them. Charlotte gave a brilliant presentation detailing her insight into being a volunteer and juggling this with her student role.

The session was a huge success and both the students and the presenters benefited from this experience. We hope to attend again in the future!
