PPA Awareness Day was earlier this week on 10th April 2026.

Recently, Dr Anna Volkmer & our very own Rosemary Townsend published an exciting article for RCSLT (The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists) about “Raising the profile of Primary Progressive Aphasia” – you can read the full article at: https://www.rcslt.org/slt-voices/finding-voice-in-primary-progressive-aphasia/

Rosemary discusses how she came to specialise in PPA and the importance of specialist therapy for those who are impacted by Primary Progressive Aphasia:

“The route towards clinical specialisms can be long and winding! In my case, inspirational colleagues, clients Dyscover and personal experience all played a part. Thanks to Royal College Of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) for inviting Dr Anna Volkmer and me to explain our routes into Primary Progressive Aphasia and how that led to a campaign to help people with language led dementias to find the specialist speech and language therapy they need.”
