When you become a Member we’ll get in touch to see if you’d like to join in with our Challenge Programme – activities are regularly promoted within our groups.
Dyscover offers a tailored and co-designed programme of activities called the ‘Challenge Programme’. Running alongside our weekly conversation groups, we work in partnership with suitably qualified 3rd party providers; onsite, offsite and remotely. We typically offer a range of accessible sports, creative and social opportunities to encourage recovery and a re-connection to community life in-line with our philosophy of enriching life participation with aphasia.
During the Dyscover term, Easter and Summer breaks we offer an opt-in to a variety of different activities, suggested by our beneficiaries and supported by our team.
Sustaining weekly contact with our Members when the groups are not running maintains connection, which can be important to many Members.
Short courses and one-off activities offer the opportunity to be part of a group of peers, form friendships, develop skills and confidence within a supported and aphasia friendly environment where natural conversations can take place.
Whether it be embarking on a new activity, taking on a personal challenge or being re-introduced to a previously familiar pursuit – there is something to suit everyone, accessible to all Dyscover Members. Honing new skills or adapting old techniques, whilst enjoying a social opportunity to increase self-esteem, reduce feelings of isolation, live a healthier lifestyle, improved wellbeing and a better quality of life are just some of the benefits.
